Kamal Sultan moved from Melbourne only three months ago to take on a new challenge. We were excited to learn about his new adventure in Shepparton and about his move from Qatar.
Mr Sultan has opened a new cafe on High Street called Levantine, named after the geographical location where the food inspiration comes from.
Mr Sultan opened Levantine as he realised there was a big multicultural community but no Lebanese cafes in town.
"Because the town is highly multicultural, I anticipated a new food may be more acceptable. I thought this could be a way of mixing cultures. I think Shepp has great potential."
Levantine offers traditional Lebanese pastries and sweets.
"I wanted to bring people a different taste and good quality. A person can have a filling meal and coffee for $8."
Mr Sultan hopes he can help the community and support a variety of people.
Pop in and introduce yourself to Kamal Sultan and two of his sons who help in the cafe.
Levantine is open 8:30am- 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. You can keep up to date with the store on their Facebook page.
