Putting the brakes on road deaths

July 28, 2017

Local automotive specialists Auto Brake Service were joined for smoko by ex Hawthorn player Campbell Brown last Friday.

Visiting Shepparton as part of the Towards Zero road safety campaign, Mr Brown ‘popped in’ to meet the ABS team, sharing stories of his family life and career.

“We all need to think about the steps we need to take to make sure our families get home safe at the end of each day. Safe cars are only a starting point”, said ABS mechanic Terry Mcdonald.

Also attending Friday’s Towards Zero luncheon, business owner Barry Cryer said it was an honour to have Mr Brown for morning tea.

“He’s a joker, the type of bloke you could just talk to about anything for hours”, said Mr Cryer.

Campbell is currently touring regional Victoria as part of TAC’s campaign to improve road safety and said it is a cause that hits home for him, having lost friends in car incidents on our roads.
