After 33 years in the floristry trade, Malcolm and Dianne Blake are saying goodbye to their own slice of floral paradise.

The husband and wife duo are closing down their well-known store, Blake’s Florist, this Saturday after more than three decades in business.

Blake’s Florist was originally located on the corner of High and Wyndham St’s before Commonwealth Bank occupied the building.

Malcolm and Dianne then moved up the road to 39 High St, where they have been located ever since.

After starting off as a 17-year-old florist in Melbourne, Dianne married Malcolm and the pair moved to Shepparton.

“When we opened there were only six empty shops in town,” Dianne said.

“Shepparton is not the place it used to be.”

While Dianne is planning to retire, Malcolm will continue to keep busy.

Malcolm and Dianne and hoping to sell the remaining stock before they close with everything priced to clear.

The shop will be open from 9 am to 5.30pm Wednesday-Friday, and from 9am to 12pm on Saturday.
