Sharing a love of donuts

What began as a tree change 12 years ago, has led Peter and Donna Zammit to peruse their love for sweet treats.

Peter and Donna opened Donut a GoGo in Shepparton 18 months ago, after previously running a Donut King franchise.

Their love for baking left them wanting to branch out and go back to making handmade donuts themselves.

“I am a patisserie chef; I started in a hotel we were previously running in Numurkah,” Donna said.

“Being in the kitchen is really hard, so I thought I’d step in and do that side.”

Peter and Donna take pride in producing quality donuts each day for their customers.

Their son begins baking at 4am each morning, where he makes the dough, cooks the donuts and then decorates them for the day.

“Everything is made fresh each morning,” Donna said.

Whilst they admit it has been a slow process, Peter believes their previous experience has given them a leg up on the competition.

“People are still finding us.

“We are in a good spot. It’s a good little street for shopping.”

The Donut a GoGo team develops a new flavour of donut each month, with October’s Halloween themed donut featuring custard, cream and a chocolate glaze.

Peter and Donna are excited for the future, with plans in the works to introduce a delivery vehicle.

“We’d love to have a delivery scooter, something similar to the one on our logo,” Peter said.

“A little vesper would allow us to do home and work deliveries.”

Donut a GoGo can also create specialised donuts for any occasion, including donut towers, personalised donuts for a donut wall or even donut snack packs.

“It’s up to the customer’s imagination,” Donna said.

“We can create whatever people want.”

Donna encourages everyone to come in and give their donuts a try.

“You be the judge. Our food speaks for itself.”

Pop in for a donut and coffee from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 2pm on Saturday.

Donut a GoGo is located at 46 Vaughan St, Shepparton.
