A career change five years ago saw Mandy Gooley turn to the hospitality industry to run her own cafe´.
After working for the Department of Human Services for 20 years, the opportunity to take over the Welsford Street Cafe´ became available.
Wanting a change, Mandy jumped at the opportunity to do something different.
‘‘I had always wanted to do something like this, it was time for a change,’’ Mandy said.
The well-established cafe´ was in the perfect location for Mandy and her team to come in and work their magic.
‘‘The cafe´ was in place for two years prior to me,’’ she said.
‘‘It is in a perfect location, nice in winter and beautiful in summer.’’
Located in the heart of Welsford St, Mandy said they saw a lot of people coming through in the morning after exercise or on their way to work.
Welsford Street Cafe´ offers an ever-changing menu, with options that are fresh and seasonal.
‘‘We are conscious of the number of office workers located around us so, we try to provide a number of health products and healthier alternatives.’’
The licensed cafe also offers corporate catering and takes bookings for evening functions.
The cafe’s speciality Five Senses coffee is also a big drawcard for customers.
‘‘Our coffee consumption has gone through the roof lately,’’ Mandy said.
Welsford Street Cafe´ is located at 2/159 Welsford St, Shepparton.
