Keeping up with styles

A love of fashion and inspiring other women motivated Rebekah Ryan to pursue a career in women’s fashion.

After working in sports retail, Rebekah realised her passions lay elsewhere and began working her way up to become the manager of The LABoratory.

‘‘I just knew this was where I wanted to be, so I worked hard. I just love my job,’’ Rebekah said.

Rebekah began with the company about five years ago, a year after the retailer came to Shepparton.

The store offers beautiful contemporary fashion, including its own labels Ellis & Dewey, Alessi and A little birdie told me.

The LABoratory underwent a week-long renovation earlier this month to change the styling from quirky and colourful to a more sophisticated and neat look.

‘‘We’ve added a lot of greenery and just made it look a lot fresher,’’ Rebekah said.

Rebekah’s enthusiasm for her job is something to be admired, often trying things on for her customers if they don’t have the time.

‘‘I’m a very honest person and I always offer my customers options that will look good on their body shape. I won’t just sell them anything.’’

If you’re looking for some styling advice and essential fashion pieces, visit Rebekah and the team Monday to Thursday 9.30 am to 5 pm, Friday 9.30 am to 5.30 pm and Saturday 9.30 am to 3 pm.

The LABoratory is at 19 Fraser St, Shepparton.
