Describing herself as a big kid at heart, Jo Matthews loves waking up every day to open her unique gift store, Delightful Rainglow.
Located in the Star Bowl Arcade on Fryers St, Shepparton, the store recently completed renovations two weeks ago, doubling in size.
‘‘I have heaps more space now which is great,’’ Jo said.
For eight years, Jo sold lights and other gifts at markets in the area before moving into popup shops in Shepparton.
‘‘I always wanted to work for myself, so markets worked,’’ she said.
Three years ago, Jo made the decision to open her own store and hasn’t looked back.
‘‘It’s a dream come true really,’’ she said.
‘‘I’m a big kid at heart and I’m just reliving my childhood every day, playing shops.’’
Delightful Rainglow is the home of The Shepparton Fairy Shop.
‘‘I love fairies, craft and everything pretty.’’
The store also sells educational games, night lights, Nanoblock products and Ravensburger puzzles, to name a few.
Every item is hand picked by Jo and her husband.
‘‘It’s important to get children playing with their hands and off technology,’’ she said.
‘‘I want to get kids using their imaginations.’’
Jo hopes to host a range children’s parties in the near future, where children can play with different crafts and polymer clay.
‘‘That’s a real passion of mine because when I was little I used to play with polymer clay,’’ she said.
