For the last 31⁄2 years, Sam Scarpari and Gina Sozzi have been serving traditional Italian cuisine at Bicaro’s Ristorante Bar Forno.
The Shepparton residents opened Bicaro’s as a ‘‘unique destination restaurant’’. ‘
‘We wanted it to have a rustic Italian feel,’’ Mr Scarpari said.
With Gina’s background in hospitality and Sam’s experience as a winemaker, the couple pride themselves on creating a wonderful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
Bicaro’s offers traditional pizza and pasta, along with antipastos and desserts.
‘‘Woodfire pizzas are the hero because of our special pizza oven,’’Mr Scarpari said.
"We promote uniqueness and source from small, local producers.’’
As a local winemaker Mr Scarpari also sells his own wine Seraphim.
In late September, he will be introducing a new range of reds and whites to his menu.
Bicaro’s also offers takeaway from its full menu, catering and has outdoor and indoor function spaces for all occasions.
Bicaro’s Ristorante Bar Forno is open Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30 pm onwards and open for lunch on Fridays from noon to 2 pm.
