Located in the centre of Shepparton is a new cafe serving quality cakes, coffee and sandwiches.
Stanley’s Cafe opened its doors on Monday, specialising in fresh sandwiches and focaccias.
Located in High St, this family-run cafe is in an ideal spot to drop in for a coffee before work or pick up lunch or an afternoon snack.
Staff member Beverley Maude said the owner stumbled across the location on a whim.
‘‘The new courthouse made it the perfect location . . . we are surrounded by offices, lawyers and banks,’’ she said.
‘‘We have two entrances, one from the back and from the front on the street where people can come in.’’
Stanley’s offers quick takeaway lunches, with sandwiches, focaccias, cakes, coffee and milkshakes on the menu.
Ms Maude said the store hoped to introduce breakfast in the near future, along with seating options out the front.
‘‘Eventually we are hoping to offer takeaway breakfast for people to come in and sit down and enjoy it or take it back to the office,’’ she said.
Ms Maude said Stanley’s focused on perfecting its sandwiches for now, introducing new flavours and combinations each week.
She said the cafe used quality meats and fresh ingredients, with people also able to come in and create their own.
‘‘This week was a trial, we will start introducing new things every week until we get to where we want to be,’’ Ms Maude said.
‘‘Our sandwiches will change, they won’t always be the same, we will just keep updating those to see what people like.’’
Ms Maude said their eyes were firmly set on the future, looking to introduce new menu items.
After winter, they hope to introduce fresh juices along with sit-down breakfasts on weekends.
‘‘It has been busy so far but we have really enjoyed it,’’ Ms Maude said.
‘‘We have big plans for the cafe down the track, we are happy to always have our sandwiches as we continue to grow.’’
Stanley’s Cafe is at 48 High St, Shepparton and is open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 4 pm, and starting next Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm.
